New Lino Print of Cornish Clifftop Chough
Share
Hello! How are you? I can hardly believe it’s January already! As you know, I’ve been busy in the studio working on a new lino print featuring the beautiful and characterful Cornish chough. The first version of this lino print was so popular that I decided to create another version, this time with a twist.
This new linocut depicts the cheeky Cornish chough soaring over the dramatic cliffs that cradle the Minack Theatre, one of Cornwall’s most iconic outdoor venues. If you follow me on social media, you might remember my inspiration trip there last year. It was wonderful to revisit the Minack; I hadn’t been since I was a child, when I went to see a Shakespeare play with a friend and her mum. I still remember that day vividly, the blazing summer sun, the sparkling sea below, although I can’t recall which play it was!
This print has been a real joy to work on. There’s something deeply rewarding about capturing both the energy of the chough and the grandeur of the Cornish coastline.
Over Christmas and the New Year, I’ve been trying to slow down a little, take my time, and really enjoy the creative process and planning for 2026. I've also had a little break away over the boarder in Devon, eating my Italian chocolate panettone with a good cuppa. A little festive habit picked up from my time living in South Italy.
Looking ahead, my next project will be a print inspired by the village of Clovelly and a pheasant reduction linocut. It's another lino print that has proved to be quite popular as he always stops people in their tracks at markets while making them smile.
I hope you have enjoyed a restful period over the holidays and that 2026 is all that you hope for.
You can find my new Clifftop Chough lino print here and at some of my Stockists very soon.
