About Joanna
I'm an artist who specialises in crafting finely detailed, hand-produced lino prints inspired by nature.
Growing up in Cornwall, I spent five years studying Graphic Design, honing my skills before working within the photography and fashion industries as a Graphic Designer. I also spent time sharing my creative
expertise teaching Graphic Design within further education and adult learning. Presently, I work as a Marketing and Design Manager for an IT and telecoms company whilst pursuing my lino printing career part-time.
My lino prints draw heavily from my experiences as a Graphic Designer, a passion for birds, and time spent living in south Italy, London, Devon and Cornwall. From my cosy studio nestled in Falmouth, Cornwall, I meticulously carve and print each piece by hand, using only the finest quality lino, inks, and papers. Every print, part of a limited edition, bears its own unique number and my personal signature, ensuring its authenticity and individuality.
When I'm not working in my studio I enjoy travelling, reading crime novels, playing the piano and practicing yoga.
"Traveling the world, I've found endless inspiration
in nature's beauty. Using the technique of lino cutting, I craft prints that
capture these wonders. Each piece shares a story of a meaningful encounter,
reflecting the magic of the world around us."

I discovered lino printing while exploring different printmaking techniques on an adult learning course and instantly fell in love with its process and bold, graphic results.

Where do you find inspiration for your prints?

Much of my inspiration comes from the natural landscapes of Cornwall and Devon, including the coastline, wildlife, and rural life that surround me. I’m drawn to capturing the small details and quiet moments that often go unnoticed.

All of my lino prints are hand-carved and hand-printed using traditional tools and artist-quality inks on paper. Each print is created individually, meaning slight variations make every piece unique.
