New Lino Print of St. Michael’s Mount

There are few sights in Britain as impressive as St. Michael’s Mount, the tidal island rising from Mount’s Bay, crowned by its castle and gardens. This iconic view, beloved by locals and visitors alike, has now been reimagined in a charming new lino print that celebrates the beauty and timeless spirit of Cornwall’s coastline.
My new lino print, created using the process of hand-carved lino printing, captures the drama of the sea meeting land, the rhythmic waves, the shifting light, and the magnificent silhouette of the Mount. The carving itself, excluding the sketching and printing, took about 18 hours to complete. I didn’t do it all at once, but spread the work out over the course of a month or so, fitting it in around my day job.
My family shares a deep connection with St. Michael’s Mount. My step-grandfather worked for the estate as a carpenter, and both he and my step-grandmother now rest in a beautiful spot overlooking Mount’s Bay and the Mount itself. It’s a familiar and comforting sight on every journey to visit my family.
Printed as a limited edition of 35, each piece is individually inked and printed by hand, ensuring no two prints are exactly alike. The fine details invite the viewer to step into the scene, to imagine gulls circling overhead, the salt on the wind, and the centuries of history and legend echoing across the bay.
Whether you have visited St. Michael’s Mount many times or dream of seeing it one day, this piece offers a way to bring a fragment of that magic home.
This print is now available in my online shop.
